According to CNIPA, this pilot initiative is designed to better serve the growing China‑Russia trade and respond to the real‑world IP needs of cross‑border enterprises. Under the mechanism, Chinese enterprises with IP questions concerning Russian‑market operations can submit enquiries via the Chinese liaison for feedback from Rospatent. Similarly, Russian enterprises doing business in China may send their inquiries through the Russian liaison to obtain responses from the Chinese side, building up a smooth official two‑way communication bridge.

ACIP Insight As economic and trade ties between China and Russia keep expanding, more enterprises are engaged in cross‑border business activities. Chinese companies operating in Russia may make full use of this liaison pilot channel for local IP‑related consultations. It is advisable for enterprises to conduct advance risk screening on trademarks, patents and other IP assets, and strengthen overseas IP layout and risk response.
